Many people are
drawn by the dream, to fly in one of the legendary bombers from the Second
World War. Some are veterans, fewer now in number with each year that
passes. People who lived through a time of heroic deeds with personal
courage and valour. Others are descendants, who come to find a connection to
a set of medals from sixty years ago, they found in an old shoe box in their
dads garage. And finally, there are people like me, history buffs and
aviation enthusiasts, who pose the question to themselves "what must have it
been like to fly in one of these ....." |

Such a typical group of passengers came
together as strangers, yet within twenty minutes, they are bonded
together by their shared flight experience. Some wear big happy grins,
glad to feel so alive. While others shed a tear of remembrance for the
sacrifices that were made to set the world free. In ways that people on
the ground cannot begin to imagine, they have all been touched by the
old bombers magic. |
